Mid Season Predictions for Michael Vick and The Philadelphia Eagles
After Monday, there is a real possibility that during second half of the season Vick could lead his team to glory that surpasses anything even the most hopeful of fans would have predicted back in August.
A Violent End: Why Youth Football Must Be Punted
The game left me cold and feeling horrible, especially watching Bradley fall down or Kolb staring into space with a large patch of grass in the ear hole of his helmet. This is not entertainment, but savagery that plays with serious injuries and perhaps worst, human lives.

More than Touchdowns: Vick’s Reentry from Prison
There has been a lot of talk about Michael Vick and his hiring by the Philadelphia Eagles. I realize the benefit of having this versatile athlete in the backfield, especially after our troubles inside the 20 yard line last year, but there are more important issues his hiring has brought to mind. The transition from prison to the work force is one that many persons and families deal with on a daily basis. As recent as 2007, Prison Statistics show that there are 2,310,984 men and women incarcerated in the Federal, State and Local prison system. Out of this number, 5.1 million will be released on probation or parole in our American communities. Michael Vick’s situation is not unique and brings to light an essential topic that should be addressed, especially for many of the public who are hammering the Philadelphia Eagles for making a grievous error in judgment by hiring an ex-felon. For a safe and better country, America needs to accept and help ex-prisoners adjust and succeed in their society by providing good paying jobs and promoting an environment of support and acceptance for true rehabilitation.
