Bolt was a major highlight of the Olympics and now that I am in official withdraw from the two week athletic competition, I must admit that Usain Bolt is one cocky SOB. He is the world’s fastest man and he has reason to be proud of his ability and humble origins. But he doesn’t have to abuse the greats of his sports as he maligned Carl Lewis and deemed himself a legend. Most Olympic athletes are humble. It is one of the most endearing traits of the games. Bolt bucks the system as he loves the brief light. But he will grow slower eventually. Others will beat his record and then Bolt will be just another cocky athlete who turned great ambition and talent into something ugly.
Who was the cockiest athlete in history?
Now that is fast. I like plane travel and going 300 mph is about as fast as I would like to travel. The next generation of planes will be a lot quicker. Super Sonic Jet will get you to LA from NY under an hour. The military is developing a plane that will make the retired Concord, which use to sonically boom past my apartment in Queens and shake my bed, into a fossil locomotive. The money the government invested is big and the benefits will come in missiles and rockets. Space travel will be possible. A central hospital with the world’s greatest doctors will be possible. And finally, going to Australia will not take two days of my precious two week vacation.
What are some possibilities with this speed and plane for you?
Yo, Ocean City tourists, stop pouring that cooking oil down the sink. Didn’t your mother teach you anything? The sewage lines were backed up resulting in the Beaches being closed. They are back open today after the ocean water miraculously cleaned itself along the seven miles of sand and surf. Unfortunately, the fish will be a bit oily to eat and sunburn will be instantaneous upon entering the waves. I am sure Governor Christie will blame the teachers and unions as he visits OC and takes a dip. Being passed over as VP must have been hard, but who has ever heard of a Republican from Jersey anyway? He was given a consolation prize as Christie will get to blab in Tampa during the Republican Convention. Maybe he will be the Secretary of State; only in our dreams.
Is Paul Ryan for VP Romney’s right pick?
