The Table: Agent Orange Clean Up, Elvis' Favorite Coaster, and a Sky Walker in A.C.

Time really does change things. Maybe not history, but it can make old enemies regret their actions and become friends. The United States has decided to clean up the Agent Orange left in Vietnam 40 years after the war. It looks like the United States is going back to Vietnam in attempt to rid the soil of dioxin, one of the world’s deadliest chemicals against humans. There is over 1,000,000 Vietnamese affected by this chemical including birth defects, contaminated soil and water. It is a first step in relations that recognize the war and its harmful impact on all involved.
Should United States pay for this clean up?

It is the time of roller coasters. Perhaps The Zippin Pippin is not the world’s most famous coaster, but it did hold the King, Elvis Presley, when it was in Memphis. Now located in Green Bay, the roller coaster commemorated the King’s last ride 35 years ago on August 8th with free side burns, music and food. Nothing like sitting in the seat of a rock and roll legend screaming your head off. It does give me motivation to get on a roller coaster before the summer is over. Enjoy the ride.

Atlantic City is a town for risks and chances, so a man on a tight rope is usually a metaphor. Not yesterday. Circus performer, Wallenda, walked across the sky to the delight and fright of crowds at the seashore casino town. His amble was made even more daring with the strong winds and slippery sand on the wire. It was all done in a half hour as Wallenda’s circus show opens this weekend. It was an old fashion publicity stunt in the ipod era. Yes, I received a view of it while it was happening. The Steel Horse will never die in AC.

2. The water rides were always my favorite, especially on this ridiculously hot days.
3. Avalon, NJ. It was great as a child, with some of the nicest, family, friendly beaches, and then as an adult, with good food and nightlife. I just wish I could afford to travel down there more often.
