They ain’t too keen on looking,
but they like to catch your eye.
Their pain has brought them strength
they thought they never had.
They’re single minded women
who see what’s good and bad.
The ones who were forsaken,
the ones who must live on.
Most of them have children,
and raise them on their own.
They need to be assured
of courage and of truth.
And man if you ain’t got it,
keep stepping in your youth.
The ones who were forgotten,
But kept the home fires burning
They’re still out there hoping.
And they ain’t afraid of yearning.
So if you meet one, show her
a love she never had.
You’ll be a better man
for making her glad.
The ones who were forsaken,

They’re still out there - willing
to love without concern.
