    Crossing Over

Stephen Edgar - NetwebTake that last holy breath and close your eyes.  Rise and see who you were and who was there with you at the end.

Look down and see your feet – young again.  Stand at the ocean’s edge.  Write the words on the slate of sand that you promised, to another.  You know the ones.  About that other life.  Let them be washed over and cleansed.  At last.  No more broken promises.

Now, see who is with you at the beginning.  Now, you are free to join your true family.  Now, you will be met by the congregation to celebrate the work you did and all you accomplished.  Now, you can sing the saga.

No need for soul review, because you are one of the chosen.  One who accepted the challenge and lived – remembered -- and died, remembered.

But Until Then – Rejoice, And Be All That You Came To Be.

A message that is good to remind ourselves. We are what we are. I like the beach as a metaphor for the present -- it really works as a place that stands in a constant state of now. It is comforting to know you are surrounding by loved ones who appreciate you. Because you always have them, even when we forget and let the world drown out their voices.

Thanks for bringing me back to lunch.
