    Birthday Blips: Bobby McFerrin

Happy 61st birthday to musical genius Bobby McFerrin. And to any who may dispute my use of the title “genius” on some guy known primarily for singing “Don’t Worry Be Happy”, I offer this performance:

Now that you’ve witnessed the social/musical connection in that clip, I’ll provide more support for his genius while defending the brilliance of his signature tune through the “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” game. I highly recommend investing time in it; my daughter and I had at least an hour’s worth of entertainment--and I’m not sure who enjoyed it more. The simple site does a great job breaking down the elements of the classic song, and being able to mix the parts yourself is a lot of fun. Kudos to the makers.

Listening to McFerrin has me in such a good mood, I’m stepping away from the computer and getting some fresh air. You should too. If you had a chance to check out the video and the “game”, I’d enjoy reading your responses. If not, check them out later on and let me know your thoughts. And as always, music by Bobby McFerrin and all previous Birthday Blip artists can be found at http://blip.fm/PeetieWheatstraw.

Cool video. I can't wait to try this next time I make a presentation. Now I just have to practice the pentatonic scale...

Great song to start the weekend. I played the game. I spent 15 minutes messing with it. The internet is a pretty cool place. You can make people pretty happy by just doing what you like with the gifts you are given. Great pick.
